I’m a proud born and raised Texan.
Shaped by the values of hard work, community and public service. My father is a retired police officer and farmer, and my mother is a public school teacher. They both instilled in me the importance of integrity, perseverance and giving back. Principles I carry with me today.
As a marketing and communications professional, my career has largely centered on improving people’s quality of life all around the world. I’ve led international public health and safety campaigns, created strategies to help people better understand innovations in science and technology, and helped coach and mentor other professionals along the way. Through this work, I have collaborated with governments of all levels, nonprofits, universities, and relief organizations.
I’m always striving to have a direct impact on meeting immediate needs.
I am also a backyard gardener and chicken farmer, someone very keen on agricultural life – also a byproduct of my Texas upbringing. I’m focused on native plants that attract bees and butterflies, raincatching systems to reduce my water use, and helping others enjoy gardening. Through all of this, I live a vibrant life of endless learning and curiosity!
Public service requires honesty, integrity and hard work. While serving as a councilmember in Marfa, Texas, I was proud to secure funding for local fire department upgrades, hold short-term rental owners accountable with stricter codes and stay focused on a clear, accountable city budget focused on road improvements. While I had to relocate for work, my experience in Marfa led me to deeply appreciate how a small community can have an immense impact on the world.
